Nuovo Award - Devlog 009

As I was developing HITM3, I put myself the deadline to have a playable version of the game for this year Independent Games Festival. Their  - Nuovo Award - highlights games that makes you think different on the medium.  A nebulous category that always ends with games I want to play and sometimes even has my favourites on it, like last year with both Queer Man Peering Into a Rock Pool.jpg and He Fucked The Girl Out Of Me being nominated. 

This year, HITM3 didn't get chosen but a kind surprise was waiting... Melos Han-Tani was one of the judges for this year Nuovo Award. In his thoughtful and beautiful Substack (you should totally follow him there!), he openly talks about the process of judging this year IGF. He also mentions his favourites games of this edition and...HITM3 happened to be one of them!!



Connecting HITM3 with games like Attack of the Friday Monsters and films from the Taiwanese New Wave Film is a big prize in itself. Thanks Melos Han-Tani for bringing up these connections. If you happened to follow this devlog from the very beggining you can see how this is a full-circle moment for me.  

Right now, HITM3 may be finished and with that, the time to release may be closer. So, please, let's stay together a little longer.
